Due to the consolidation achieved in Querétaro, SCHUNK representatives, headed by CEO Kristina Schunk and CTO Timo Gessman, announced an investment project for Querétaro for more than 119 million 210 thousand pesos.

This investment will be directed towards gripping systems and clamping technology for traditional mechanical engineering.

From the Hannover Messe, the most important industrial transformation event in Europe, held at the end of April this year, Kristina Schunk recalled that the company's beginnings in Querétaro date back to the year 2000, and seven years ago they decided to invest in a project that achieved its consolidation.

"So we decided to make another large investment with a plant where we have different disciplines from the engineering side, to sales and production, and we decided to make another investment," emphasized SCHUNK's CEO, who added that the organization initially plans to generate 250 highly professional jobs; it is also in search of talent, which is why it maintains its interest in the ecosystem offered by the state in terms of universities and academies.

In this regard, the governor of Querétaro, Mauricio Kuri, distinguished the company for the innovation and technological development of its robot systems, which, within the framework of the inauguration of Hannover Messe, earned it the HERMES AWARD 2024, the most important award in the sector.

The award recognises a product or solution that demonstrates a remarkably high level of technological innovation.

Innovation

The company presented SCHUNK's 2D Grasping Kit project, the novel nature of which is based on the AI of component variants and the transfer to a smaller training data set, which reduces learning times for recognition.

It consists of a lens camera, an industrial PC, AI software and an application-specific gripper.

It is worth noting that SCHUNK is known as the world market leader in gripping systems and gripping technology.

For more than 30 years, it has been supplying customers in the medical technology and laboratory automation sectors with standard products and customized solutions. The aim of this multidisciplinary collaboration is to develop new medical technology products, treatment methods and medicines.

The organization provides extensive support, for example, with sensor technology in operating theaters through the use of sensitive robot systems.
