The automotive company will produce decorative carbon fiber components.

IN BRIEF/
< With its new manufacturing plant located in the FINSA Aguascalientes Industrial Park, the automotive company seeks to expand its presence in Mexico. >

FINSA Industrial Park is home to MATA Automotive, which stands out for producing decorative carbon fiber components.

For the installation of its plant, the company is earmarking an initial investment of US$11 million.

From this plant, MATA Automotive expects to produce around 1.5 million parts per year, specifically for its customers located in Mexico.

It is estimated that initially, the company will supply these parts to Tesla, as well as other electric vehicle brands, such as Aston Martin, Bentley, Jaguar, Range Rover, RAM, Jeep and Corvette.

» The company expects to produce 1.5 million parts per year for its customers in Mexico, including Tesla.

"The arrival of foreign capital to FINSA is a sign of confidence in Mexico and part of the dynamics we are seeing from nearshoring. Together with our partners, we are ready and are spearheading the revolution in the automotive sector," said Sergio Argüelles, President and CEO of FINSA.

The park's executive commented that having suppliers specialized in electromobility responds to the nearshoring trend and the need for industries to be closer to customers such as Tesla and markets such as the United States.

"The supply chain is the backbone of the automotive industry, so the EV market benefits from the expertise that other countries can bring to the manufacturing process and training of human talent. Although the country already has experience in the electromobility sector, the challenge is that now it will have to be carried out on a large scale," said Argüelles.

With this new plant, the automotive company will be creating more than 500 jobs, with a view to increasing them to 1,000 in the short term.

Automotive Company

MATA Automotive is a company that has been in the sector for 19 years and employs more than 1,600 people around the world. The company has facilities located in Turkey, Slovakia, United Kingdom, USA and China. Annually, it sells 4 million parts, and with the plant in Aguascalientes, it could increase this figure to a little more than 5 million auto parts sold per year.
