GEODIS inaugurates center in Edomex

The transportation company continues to trust in the country and grows its presence with 150 thousand square meters.

GOEDIS, a national leader in transportation and logistics, inaugurated a new distribution center in the State of Mexico, making a total of four in the municipality of Cuautitlán Izcalli and six in the State of Mexico.

The French company directly invested 20 million dollars for the creation of this new warehouse, which employs more than 1,500 workers.

This new distribution center has an area of almost 150 thousand square meters and its main clients are ACE Hardware and Steve Madden; with the former, its business line is retail, which seeks to supply its own stores and will occupy 40 percent of the site; while with the latter it has 3 operating lines: wholesale groups, retail and e-commerce, and which will have 60 percent of the space.

The firm with more than a century of life projects that by 2024 it will have a 50 percent growth, this as a result of the nearshoring wave and the arrival of new companies under this business model.

Another warehouse by 2024

After having today five business lines: Supply Chain Optimization, Freight Forwarding, Contract Logistics, Distribution & Express and Road Transport, the company with direct presence in 60 countries and a global network that covers 168 countries, announced that, due to the good results in the state of Mexico and in the country, it will create another warehouse for next year, which will have an area of 40 thousand square meters with the possibility of growing to 17 thousand meters more.

It is expected that this new distribution center will house the company Puma, which will occupy the entire area.

Currently this company has a workforce of 46,141 employees globally and certifications that allow operations in different latitudes and multimodal (sea, air, land and rail), accounting for just over 346,667 tons of goods by air transport in 2021; more than 900,000 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) by sea transport in 2021 and 6,000 daily shipments in 2021.
