Companies will invest in Querétaro

Five companies from the automotive sector are looking to establish their headquarters in the state of Queretaro.

The President of the Automotive Cluster of Queretaro, Renato Villaseñor, announced that five companies from the automotive sector are making the necessary arrangements to set up operations in Queretaro, where the arrival of more investments in the industrial sector continues.

"We are aware of at least five projects that are being negotiated with the State Government in their corporations in order to set up in Queretaro, specifically in the automotive sector," he said.

Although he did not give more details about the new investments, he said that they are projects coming from Europe and Asia.

"Basically it is research and development, digital infotainment equipment, as well as parts and structural components of the car," said Villaseñor Mendoza. He added that Queretaro fosters an ideal ecosystem to receive new projects and grow the automotive sector.

Renato Villaseñor emphasized that 90% of the auto parts manufactured in Querétaro are for export, mainly for the North American market. "Where basically with the T-MEC any part that is manufactured in Querétaro can be moved within Canada, the United States and Mexico," Villaseñor explained.

He noted that, in Querétaro, companies in the automotive sector increased regional content, which met the goal established in the T-MEC of 75%.

"This is something that we have been doing for four years and it is one of the strengths that exist in the state, the entire supply chain, which allows companies to reach these percentages of national integration," highlighted the president of the Querétaro Automotive Cluster.

Finally, he announced that the Querétaro Automotive Cluster comprises 130 of the 350 companies in the sector in the state, generating 80,000 jobs and manufacturing a wide range of products.

"In Queretaro we have a very wide range of more than 50 different systems, but to name a few, braking systems, steering systems, transmissions, infotainment systems, are some of the main ones we handle in the state," he concluded.
