Bosch is looking for suppliers
The company requires national and skilled inputs for new mobility solutions.
During his visit to Mexico, Bosch's vice president of Purchasing and Mobility Solutions in North America stated that the company expects to grow very strongly in North America, for which they are looking for trained suppliers.
"We want to grow on our own, we want to innovate on our own and that is why also suppliers are so important to us. This company invests in the future and creates new technologies, it is the secret for us to stay successful and independent at the same time," he said.
He announced that Bosch, the multinational engineering and technology company headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, is focused on four megatrends in the mobility of the future: Connectivity, Electrification, Automation and Personalization.
He explained that Bosch is on the lookout for supply chain opportunities in the North American region in order to continue the generation of new customer solutions.
"We are focusing on the connectivity side (...), new technologies in electrification, we are working on first-buyer projects, we are working on power electronics for the future, there are several big applications coming for Bosch in the future, so all this is in alternative technologies," he detailed.
The purchasing expert commented that one of the products they are looking for are high precision machinery parts because they are used in engine components for diesel and gasoline insertion.
He added that this business is growing for Bosch in North America because they are gaining market from other companies and for this reason they continuously use high precision parts.
"Very small high-precision parts for most components and also for electrification (...), these are the main areas where we use high-precision parts," he stressed.
How to become a Bosch supplier
The Bosch VP of Purchasing highlights five points that suppliers must share: mindset, forward-looking management, sourcing strategy, professional project management and communication, as well as adaptability.
He indicated that the basic requirements for Bosch's supply base are standard certifications such as IATF 16949 and ISO 14001; an audit (P1 audit, CSR); Process Release, Run at Rate, PPAP release; lastly, upcoming Co2 & conflict minerals audits.
